ISO 50001 Energy Management System

The ISO 50001 training enhances delegate’s understanding in Energy Management System(EnMS) principles and develop necessary expertise to perform a Energy Management System audit by applying widely recognized audit principles, procedures and techniques. Energy Management Systems standard is comprehensive and flexible that provides benefits for organizations of all shapes and sizes in both public and private sectors across all domains globally.  This training will give hands-on experience and the delegates will be able to master audit techniques and become competent to manage audit related program, team, communication with customers, conflict resolution and much more.

Target Audience

This qualification has been designed to develop knowledge and skills required to conduct a full audit of an organization in Energy Management System targeting professionals such as energy managers, compliance managers and engineers who want to be aware of entire EnMS auditing process.  

Course Prerequisites

There are no official prerequisites for ISO 50001 Auditor training course, however Shengel ED  recommends following expertise:

  • knowledge of Energy Management System
  • The principles of fuel combustion, heat transfer and energy flow
  • The relevant sources of energy regulation, guidelines and standards
  • The typical methods and technologies for increasing efficiency
  • Energy measurement units, sources, costs, tariffs and scheduling
  • Energy use data analysis methods
  • Energy baselines, energy targets, performance indicators, monitoring and performance measurement
  • The impact of organizational processes and equipment on energy efficiency
  • Electricity use: motors, drives, lighting, computers large and small

Course Duration

The recommended guided learning hours for this qualification is 5 Days (40 hours).

Day 1: Introduction to Energy Management Systems and ISO 50001

Day 2: Energy efficiency, audit principles, preparation and launching of an audit

Day 3: On-site audit activities

Day 4: Closing the audit

Day 5: Certification Exam

Learning Outcomes

  • Perform ISO 50001 surveillance and internal audit

Assessment Methodology

This qualification is assessed by written examination.
