ISO 14001 Environmental Management System

The ISO 14001 training enhances delegate’s understanding in Environmental Management System (EMS) principles and develop necessary expertise to perform a Environmental Management System audit by applying widely recognized audit principles, procedures and techniques. ISO 14001 is an internationally accepted standard designed to help businesses remain commercially successful and grow sustainably without overlooking environmental responsibilities and impacts.

ISO 14001 belongs to the ISO 14000 family of environmental management standards, which provides the framework to allow businesses meet increasingly high customer expectations of corporate responsibility, as well as legal or regulatory requirements. This training will give hands-on experience and the delegates will be able to master audit techniques and become competent to manage audit related program, team, communication with customers, conflict resolution and much more.

Target Audience

This qualification has been designed to develop knowledge and skills required to conduct a full audit of an organization’s Environmental Management System targeting following professionals such as prospective lead auditors, C-level executives, consultants, managers, engineers, who want to be aware of entire EMS auditing process.

Course Prerequisites

There are no official prerequisites for ISO 14001 Auditor training course, however Shengel ED recommends following expertise:

  • Knowledge of Environmental Management System
  • Basic understanding of core elements of a management system and the interrelationship between top management responsibility, policy, objectives, planning, implementation, measurement, review and continual improvement
  • Conceptual knowledge of managing impacts arising from business aspects, controls and compliance with legal requirements and other requirements

Course Duration

The recommended guided learning hours for this qualification is 5 Days (40 hours).

Day 1: Introduction to Environmental Management Systems and ISO 14001

Day 2: Aspect & Impact, audit principles, preparation and launching of an audit

Day 3: On-site audit activities

Day 4: Closing the audit

Day 5: Certification Exam

Assessment Methodology

This qualification is assessed by written examination.
